Needs Help ASAP

Ever since updating my laptop to the El Captain, FCP has been extremely lagging, force crashing, and the app looks a little off. PLEASE FIX THIS, other than that. Final cut pro is my favorite editing software.

Latest Update Introduces Sluggishness

FCX is a great, powerful video editor. There’s little that I’ve thrown at it that it couldn’t do — and for those things, I’ve leaned on Motion. The ease of edits, searching the library with smart collections, adding powerful transitions and effects and basic color correction, is quite amazing. I’d still love to have a copy/paste for settings between clips, but that’s been requested so many times that I’m not 100% sure that the FCX team even cares. Other than a few minor missing features, I’m pleased with the product. It doesn’t matter if I’m working on a powerful workstation or a macbook air, the program is pretty responsive. That’s really impressive, considering the sheer amount of media that I’m throwing at it. I would love to see native Compressor support so I could initiate a batch network encode directly from FCX.

Less intuitive than previous versions

As a longtime Final Cut user, I see this version as a major step backward when it comes to ease of use. Something I have appreciated about so many Apple products is that they usually have an incredibly untuitive UI. There is a sense of loss here, whether it is an effort to appeal to a broader consumer base, or simply to update the look of the application. The Final Cut of a decade ago had fewer bells and whistles but was far easier for the new user to adapt to. I rarely had to research simple commands. I find that there is a much steeper learning curve with this version. Also, the current version has crashed on me 4 times in a single session. Stability is so key. Get it together Apple.

FCPX 10.2.2

I’ve been working on this version right after updating to El Capitan, and FCPX keeps crashing!!! What is going on! Why is this happening. I’ve reinstalled this program, resaved the files and still keeps crashing… OMG I don’t know what to do! Can someone please HELP! I hadn’t had a CRASH before this update for quite some time!! NOT a good thing!!

Final Cut

I have used Final Cut Pro X for a couple of years now and I have to say I Love it. Altough with that being said I really have nothing to compare to expect for really iMovie. I know a lot of people complained with FCPX came out and thank you to those people because the updates apple has brought just keep making it better. I also have Compressor and Motion, and have the suite (FCPX, Motion, Compressor) all together makes them even better. Can not wait to see some future updates Like support for El Capitan and Metal API.

Really?!

If I walk away from my Mac and the displays turn off on El Capitan, FCP X crashes. Serisouly?! I cannot think of a more unstable program.

Better than the best

Like many others I was dismayed by being forced to learn a new system….it’s just really hard to undo finger memory. But now, a year later I wouldn’t dream of going back. Not for a second. The benefits available in 10.2 are unbelievable. I could name 1 out of at least 5 changes that make this program worth the switch. There’s still more they must do to be better than they are, so keep at it Apple. This is my 18th year editing on the Mac, and ever since Final Cut 1.25 with FCP/X.

New version is a buggy mess!!!

I am really running out of patience with Apple and FCPX. I may bite the bullet and go with Adobe from now on. With this latest update, I can’t even perform a simple text layover (copying text from Word) without the app completely crashing. Unacceptable.

not able to download new update

I tried every way possible help please

For me, better than the older versions

When Final Cut Pro X was to be released, I had a feeling it would look something like iMovie; because iMoveHD (the very old version) was pretty much just a downgrade in software to Final Cut Express (older verison as well) and easier to use for non-advanced people. The new look and design was a bit weird but mostly everything the old Final Cut had, this one had - plus way more new features. This product overall is better than the older versions in my opinion, and has more functinality and is way easier to use. (But u should just get like premier or something, that stuffs way better)

New Version stop working

I brought hese new version two months ago and now its giving me lot of problem ……… please kindly fix it

ksa

I want Arabic language for this program

Could Be Way Better Then It Is

I’m a big fan of Apple, of course. So, I use my MacBook Pro to do all sorts of things. Including Final Cut Pro X. This program, is by-far over-payed. I would say it’s worth 50$ USD at the most. Go buy a better program that has more options then this over-priced silly program. I’ve been using this program, and trying to push it towards its limit….. Though, it’s not enough. Lag comes in once you start putting heavy material into FCP X. In conclusion, not a good buy.

2ND TO NONE

There is nothing out there that is better than Final Cut Pro X. The software just works seamlessly no matter what you’re working on.

A disaster

In an effort to modernize, I made the mistake of trying this instead of my usual workhorse, the predecessor Final Cut Pro 7.0.3. What a mistake. First it obliterated FCP 7, every element, effect, setting had to be rebuilt from scratch once I figureed out how to uninstall FCPX. That was just trying to recover. OK, I wasted almost 2 weeks on FCPX. I do very precise, synchronized multi-camera edits. Every correction, every tweak knocked things out of sync. It took 6 more edits to try to get it back into sync. The basic tools for precision are absent, replaced with etherial tools that make me guess what it will do. If you are doing simplistic edits and want a system that is idiot proofed, go ahead and use FCPX. Its designed for the simple world. It has no place in the professional world. Its content is not backwards compatible with FCP7. It leaves residual, low quality proxy copy clutter all over my drives in folders it creates on its own and tries to hide (but watch your disk storage increase). Where does that come from? Like any program currently on the market, it can’t handle full resolution 4K raw content. It fakes you out by making the proxy copy. As you are loading content, it is making the secret copies. While you are thinking, gee, my computer is really running slow, what is causing it is FCPX taking all the resources to make those copies. Its a cheat. And when you compare the simple output quality of your finished product vs the raw, you’ll see the quality is vastly different. The clients notice it too. It reminded me of the crappy codecs Avid would pass off as professional quality. So no I don’t recommend Avid, but I surely do not recommend FCPX. Apple should admit thei mistake on this product and reissue FCP7, or better yet, upgrade their own far superior product. FCP 8, what a concept. I’ve been waiting almost 5 years, they won’t get the message. The only way we can hope is to not encourage their ego, greed and stupidity. . . DO NOT BUY FCPX

FAIL!

Ive been sitting here for 3 days trying to render a movie from FCPX that looks beautiful and is in perfect sync on the timeline. But, every finished rendered movie of the timeline, ends up with the audio out of sync. I have now tried all the different possible variations in rendering. Summary: Final Cut X does not always render what you see in the timeline. Please Be Aware: The FCPX timeline can look fine, but then after your long render, it may end up with things out of sync, etc. and then you are back to square one. And seems there is no one at Apple that can help. Lots of threads with novice help though. This is not an unusual, esoteric problem. This is simply trying to end up with a finished movie that looks and sounds like it does in the time line. So buy a new MAC, maybe that will work, and with the brand new operating system, remember to upgrade your now incompatible hardware devices and plug-ins. Maybe you can get that project finished by 2017. But you may be in luck: Apple might be able to loan you the +/- 10k to make the transitional purchases (assuming youve made timely payments on the 10k system you bought a few years ago) so their software can be made to work as advertised. Im guessing I will be learning Adobe Premier or Media Composer after all. Ive used Final Cut for over 10 years. :(

Crashes on a Regular Basis

With a topped our iMac, Final Cut Pro crashes more than any other program I use. Final Cut is EXTREMLY Complex for anyone but experienced users. Most prople will probably quit using program before they figure out how to use. I cannot reccomend this to anyone that does not expect to use it everyday.

Not to impressed

Bought a brand new imac with all the bells and whistles, best processor, extra ram etc. Then I bought final cut x and try doing video work. Final cut constantly does not respond and I have to force quit. Also get annoying overlay of clips and green blotches. These are simple small go pro mp4 files from various cameras and sources and everything is updated to latest versions as of January 11, 2016. I give it plenty of time to render before I try to work on clips and it still has a stroke. I did better with the old version of I movie. Save your money.

Can’t render

Major issues with trying to render projects. No matter what library I’m using, it still happens (it just stops at 0). It will also crash on a regular basis, and I have a newer Mac, with 16GB.
